Mets Braves 8/5 Sweep or bust

On the pregame show, they just asked whether or not the Mets need to sweep to stay alive in the playoff hunt. Um, yes. If they only take 2 of 3, they are 7 games back and quickly running out of real estate. What's more, they will only have 6 games left against the Braves.

Currently, the tragic number is 44. If they sweep it stays there. Otherwise it drops to 42. Even if Atlanta plays .500 ball the rest of the way, the Mets would need to win 2 of every 3.

For the record, if you told me in February that the fork wouldn't be stuck in the Mets until August, I would have called you crazy.

Mets Marlins 8/2

the last 2 games have been so depressing-
Tonight 9th inning up a run- bases loaded 1 out and a ground ball to 2nd- this is what is commonly known as a double play ball- the 2nd baseman throws it to the shortstop covering 2nd who throws it to 1st for the double play. Would someone please explain this concept to Justin Turner!!!!!

Screw it just break out the golf clubs they are not interested in making the playoffs- they could have been 4 1/2 back instead of 7 1/2- they are running out of real estate.
